Five Question Friday!

The crazy days are continuing...and I don't expect to slow down this weekend...not even on Sunday.  I have at least 1000 things to do this weekend.  And an Easter egg hunt on Sunday at church.  Which really bums me out since that's when I catch up on my rest!  Oh, well...I guess I'll sleep later! ;)

Today, as I do *most* Friday's, I'm linking up with Mama M for Five Question Friday!  If you'd like to play along, feel free to head over to her blog and link up! :)

1. What is your favorite sign of spring?

Of course my absolute favorite sign of spring is when the temperatures begin to warm up.  I am not a cold weather person - which is so funny to me, since I lived in the mountains for two years!  I like not having to put on bulky sweaters and real shoes!  I can switch over to my flip flops and that makes me happy!

Also, I love just seeing everything blooming and looking so pretty.  I was just noticing yesterday that the dogwoods & azaleas are looking so bright & beautiful.  I love the pink dogwoods...and the white aren't too shabby either.

2. What was your best birthday ever?

I'm not sure which was my *best*.  I've had a lot of good ones.  My 16th birthday was a surprise party.  And then last year, I headed to the beach on my birthday.  That was pretty good too!  I think one of the best, though, was a year that I took the day off, went to the movies with Dylan in the afternoon and just kind of hung out all day.  I still love birthdays and in my family they are a big deal.  I love that.

3. What is your favorite dessert?

I don't know that I really have a favorite...I love lots of desserts - peach or strawberry cobler, pound cake, chocolate eclair dessert, brownies, ice cream...it kind of just depends on my mood.  But I ALWAYS love birthday cake!  At ASU, they used to have a 'bakery' where you could order cakes & such...and when they had left over birthday cake, they would sell it by the slice in the dining hall.  It was my favorite! :)

4. What is the best excuse you've ever used to get out of a ticket?

I don't have one...not that I haven't been pulled...but this is my favorite "speeding ticket" story.

One night, I was heading home after dropping my friend off at home.  I was just driving along, listening to my music and all of the sudden I saw blue lights in my rear view mirror.  I looked down & noticed I was going 50...which I didn't think should be a problem because I was thinking that the speed limit was 45.  I pulled over...the officer came to my window and asked the proverbial question "Are you in a hurry to get somewhere?" To which I replied, "Not really."  He asked if I knew what the speed limit was and I responded "Well, I thought it was 45, but since I know I was going 50 when you pulled me, I'm going to say that it must be 35."  He just chuckled and said I was right...asked for my license & registration...and went back to his car to pull my record.  When he came back to me he said that the residents living on the road I was driving down had requested that the WSPD patrol that road a bit more because a lot of people were speeding up and down that road.  He said that ironically the majority of the people that they were pulling actually lived off of the road!  He gave me a warning and sent me on my way!  I was so relieved! :)

5. Do you wake up before your alarm, with your alarm, or after hitting snooze several times?

All of the above! :)  Sometimes, like this morning, I wake up because I hear Dylan go to the bathroom (which is right outside my bedroom).  His alarm is set to go off earlier than mine - basically so he can watch TV in the morning.  He doesn't often wake up with his alarm...but occasionally he does.  Most mornings I wake up WHEN the alarm goes off, but I lay in bed and listen to the radio...and occassionally fall back to sleep.  Most of the time if I hit the snooze button, I don't go back to sleep...but sometimes I do.  I usually only use the snooze button on the weekend....which I know is weird, but I like to listen the morning radio show during the week and on the weekend it's usually just music! :)

Hope you have a great weekend!  We are supposed to have storms all day tomorrow and it sounds like they could be pretty severe.  I'm just hoping we keep power throughout! :)

My favorite sign of spring are the buds on the trees. That means it's been warm enough for them to bud so the month of June will be here soon. HA!
